Hand picked at peak ripeness
Coffee cherries on each plant ripen at different rates, so our co-op partners pick by hand, daily, when the cherries are bright red. Large-scale producers strip every cherry at once with machines: ripe, underripe, and overripe mixed together. It saves them money. It costs you flavor.

Many coffees are overroasted to mask low quality beans. Ours are crafted consistently from bean to bag, so you taste roundness, balance, and aroma instead of burnt bitterness.

Most coffee is bought through middlemen who pay farmers much less. We work with the same co-ops year after year: 95% of our farmer cooperatives have partnered with us for over five years, and half for over a decade.
